Play Ball! You aren’t stuck at home anymore. Lil Sluggers will begin programming July 6th. We are implementing all appropriate safety actions to meet the unique needs and circumstances of our players, coaches and families. These actions meet or exceed all recommendations made by the CDC and state & local health officials.
You are “Safe At Lil Sluggers”:
All programming will be held outside. All groups will be 10 players or less.
Parents or caregivers are required to stay for the entire one hour Class, Practice or Game. Half-Day Baseball Camps are drop-off and parents are not required to stay.
Parents of younger Lil Sluggers (ages 2 & 3) may be asked to help keep their player on their spot marker during class.
If you or your player feel sick, or you believe you have come into contact with someone who has COVID-19; please stay home.
Temperature checks and screening for symptoms will be performed upon arrival of all players and coaches. A player or coach may not participate if their temperature is greater than 100.4 degrees.
Wash stations with hand sanitizer will be set up at each location. Players and coaches will be required to wash hands thoroughly before play begins and when it ends.
In Phase 4, youth sports participants are not required to wear masks during physical activity as long as they can maintain a safe social distance (additional exceptions can be made for individuals with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering). They will need to wear a face covering to and from the park, and will need to wear a mask any time they are within 6' of another player or coach.
All coaches will be required to wear a face covering at any time they are within 6' of a player or another coach.
No water bottles, drinks or snacks will be allowed on the field of play.
All equipment will be sanitized after every class, practice or game with EPA registered disinfectants.
Players will be provided with color coded equipment that they will use for the entire class, including bats, balls, bases, spot markers. Players will not have to share equipment.
All drills and games will be conducted with players having assigned spots in the field that are a minimum of 6 feet apart. All groups will be less than 10 players. All groups will be a minimum of 30' apart.
All players will stay with the same group the entire session in all Classes, Practices, Coach-Pitch Games and Camps.
No Make-Ups will be permitted during the Covid-19 pandemic.
All coach-pitch games will be played by “Pitcher’s Hand Out”, meaning a batted ball will be thrown by a player to the coach who is pitching on every play. This will eliminate players coming into close contact at bases when trying to make a defensive play.
During a coach-pitch game, players will wait for their turn to bat with their parent or caregiver, who will be social distancing along the base lines. There will be NO dugouts.
Players will be dismissed from play, one player at a time to eliminate kids running into each other upon exiting the field of play. No hi-fives for now!
All coaches will be trained in all health and safety protocols.
If a player exhibits symptoms after checking-in or during play, we will ask the parent or caregiver present to have their player sit-out for the remainder of the class, practice or game.
Notifications will be communicated via email for any new developments regarding known cases, policy & procedure updates, or changes to programming. Please make sure you do not unsubscribe from email notifications. We will also post updates on the HOME page of our website.
