IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE - Batting Helmet Requirement
Insurance stipulations require any child age 4 and above MUST wear a batting helmet with a facemask when hitting with a real baseball bat.
Beginning with Spring Session 1 - March 4th thru April 28th, 2019; any child age 4 and above will be required to wear a batting helmet with a facemask when hitting if they are using a real baseball bat. This will apply mainly to kids in our Coach-Pitch Leagues, Advanced Classes, Private Lessons and regular Classes that use real baseball bats. Drills and games are included, as well as private lessons. Drills and games that use a black training bat are NOT included.
Chicago Baseball Academy, LLC and Lil Sluggers Chicago will supply helmets that the kids can wear. If you prefer your child has their own helmet, you can purchase one online through sources like Amazon or Dick's Sporting Goods; or at a local sporting goods store.
Chicago Baseball Academy, LLC and Lil Sluggers Chicago will not be held responsible for head lice or any other condition resulting from the shared use of any batting helmet.
Unfortunately, kids will NOT be able to participate in a drill, practice, lesson or game without a helmet AND facemask if a real bat is being used. Kids that refuse to wear a helmet will have to sit out or use a training bat.
Please note that this precaution is in the best interest and safety of the players. If you have any questions or concerns, reply to this email and Coach Jeff will respond as soon as he is able.
Reminder that Spring Session 1 begins in just a couple weeks, so please be ready with the appropriate equipment for your player.
